Order Glass Table Tops
Make an impression by using thick toughened glass for your table top. A glass top can be added to an old or new table, to a vintage sewing machine, to a wooden trunk, a barrel and all sorts of other things and you can turn your table into a great DIY project.
Glass table tops also make for very low maintenance, just wipe any food or liquid away without worry of staining.
Iron in the glass causes the glass to have a slight green tinge – Select Opti-White Low Iron to greatly reduce the green effect.
We supply a range of glass table tops from 4mm protective tops through to 19mm toughened board room tables and all in between.
Shelves can be made to any size and shape and can of course be toughened if necessary. We keep a range of different shelf supports in stock, please come and have a look and we can find the bracket to suit your application.
All glass table tops are made in Toughened (Safety) Glass unless otherwise specified.
Toughened or tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the inner surfaces into tension. Such stresses cause the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards as plate glass (aka: annealed glass) creates. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury.
