Toughened glass for safety
Toughened glass means that if broken, it crumbles into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury.
Due to its safety and strength, toughened glass is used in a variety of demanding applications, including vehicle windows, shower doors, architectural glass doors and tables, refrigerator trays, mobile screen protectors, as a component of bulletproof glass, diving masks, and various types of plates and cookware.
Make an impression by using thick toughened glass for your table top. A glass top can be added to a new or old table, vintage sewing machine, wooden trunk or barrel. The possibilities are endless. You can turn your table into a great DIY project! Glass table tops also make for very low maintenance, just wipe any food or liquid away without the worry of staining.
Iron in glass causes it to have a slight green tint. If you want to reduce this effect please specify ‘Opti-White Low Iron’ glass.
